Ep 54 and a half: something completely different
In which I actually sort of promote another podcast ...
Well there I was on Thursday, looking forward to spending my Friday working on Episode 55, when an email came through: the government is having a ‘lightning review’ of the new social media minimum age legislation, and it wants submissions by, like, tomorrow. Hello submission, au revoir Episode 55.
But then this morning, when I took the dog for out for her walk (OK, my walk too), I loaded up one of my regular podcasts, The Minefield from the ABC Radio National, and it all fell into place.
It’s a podcast about moral philosophy and always a good listen on any given subject - but it’s never been so salient to me as it was today.
You see, they were talking about the very subject that had prevented me from getting my next episode together - and not only that, it’s an intelligent and respectful discussion about a range of viewpoints, for and against the legislation.
I guess the universe figured it owed me this, so with no further ceremony I’ll show my gratitude by sharing the gift it sent me:
I’m sure you’ll have your own thoughts, and if so you know what to do:
I’m not going to be cheeky enough to ask for subscriptions when I didn’t even make an episode, but you know, I wouldn’t say no …
Regarding the next episode, I’ve got something happening next week that means it’s going to be another 2 weeks. Promise to make it a goody.
Meanwhile you can contact me all the usual ways:
And if you want to find the pod on one of these platforms, here are some shortcuts:
Talk to you in a couple of weeks!
Thank you so much for this Elizabeth.
